Arthur Terms Top Order Failure As Reason Behind 5-0 Defeat

Wellington (January 20, 2018): Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has said that no excuses should be made after getting whitewashed at the hands of the Kiwis.

Mickey termed the top-order failure as the reason behind the 5-0 defeat in the one-day international (ODI) series.

Arthur held a media talk after the fifth ODI and said Pakistan batsmen should have accepted the challenge as the conditions were not that difficult. He seemed disappointed over top-order’s poor performance throughout the series. The head coach admitted that players could not adjust themselves to the conditions and did not play to their potential. Every team play good cricket at home but only the best teams deliver on foreign tours, he maintained.

Talking about Haris Sohail – who scored two half-centuries in two matches – Arthur said he proved that he can play in crunch situations and praised the left-hander.
