KABUL: Four children were killed and five others were wounded on Thursday in a landmine explosion in the northwestern Afghan province of Faryab.
The spokesman of Faryab police told the broadcaster that militants had placed the bomb near a road in order to target Afghan security forces.
The age of the victims has not been specified.
In another incident, seven people were killed and four others injured when a landmine struck a passenger vehicle in the Nomesh district of Central Daikundi province on Friday, an official said.
