QUETTA: Sarfraz Bugti has said that despite Pakistan’s decades-long support for Afghan nationals, the response has not been in line with expectations.
Speaking at a Pakistan Peoples Party gathering in Pishin, the Balochistan chief minister described Afghanistan as a brotherly neighboring country but stressed that Pakistan has extended assistance to Afghans for over 40 years without adequate acknowledgment.
He urged Afghan nationals residing in Pakistan to refrain from any involvement in violence, warning that under the leadership of Asim Munir, no elements would be allowed to destabilize the country.
Bugti reiterated that addressing public concerns remains the top priority of his government. He also condemned ongoing violence in the region, particularly referring to civilian casualties in Iran, and emphasized that Pakistan’s interests remain paramount.
Welcoming the elevation of Pishin to divisional status, he pledged to focus on the province’s development needs. He added that the people of Balochistan seek peace and progress, assuring continued efforts to improve education, healthcare, and long-term stability across the province.
