RAWALPINDI – A large-scale military operation carried out by Pakistani security forces in the Sambaza area of Zhob district, near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, resulted in the elimination of 47 militants belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The two-day operation, conducted on August 7 and 8, was aimed at neutralizing TTP elements allegedly operating with foreign backing. In its initial phase, the operation led to the killing of 33 militants seeking to destabilize the region.
Extended Operations Lead to Further Casualties
The clearance mission extended into the night of August 8 and early hours of August 9. During the extended engagement, 14 additional TTP militants—referred to by officials as Fitna-ul-Khawarij—were killed in firefights near the border area. Security personnel also seized a substantial stockpile of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the militants.
