LAHORE: Pakistan has reported 98 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 672,931. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 14,530 on Thursday.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 4,974 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Till now 6,427 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,502 in Sindh, 2,363 in KP, 572 in Islamabad, 355 in Azad Kashmir, 208 in Balochistan, and 103 in GB.
Furthermore 265,680 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 223,181 in Punjab, 88,099 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 58,557 in Islamabad, 19,576 in Balochistan, 12,805 in Azad Kashmir and 5,033 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 10,247,374 coronavirus tests and 50,055 in the last 24 hours. 605,274 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 3,303 patients are in critical condition.
