Islamabad: It is suggested to impose five percent sales tax on the petroleum products in the federal budget for the financial year 2024-2025 .
The tax will give national exchequer a whopping amount of Rs 600 billion while tax exemption and concession will be ended.
The rate of sales tax can be further increase while a complete tax will be imposed on agriculture products.
On the other-hand, it is suggested to impose sales tax of 10 percent on food, medicines and stationary items.
