LAHORE: The 556th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the revered founder of the Sikh faith, will commence tomorrow.
Sikh pilgrims from across Pakistan and abroad are gathering in Nankana Sahib to participate in the festivities honoring their first Guru. During the pilgrimage, the devotees will visit and pay homage at Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib, Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hassan Abdal, and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Narowal.
The main ceremony commemorating Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary will be held at Gurdwara Janam Asthan on Wednesday. All necessary arrangements regarding security, transport, accommodation, and food have been finalized by special teams of the Evacuee Trust Property Board.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued visas to 2,100 Sikh pilgrims from India to take part in the celebrations.
