Rawalpindi:A slight decline in dengue cases was observed, with the Punjab Health Department reporting 79 new cases of dengue fever across the province on Sunday.
The majority of the new cases were recorded in Rawalpindi, with 63 cases, followed by four cases in Chakwal, and two in Sialkot.
Single cases were also reported in Lahore, Attock, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Kasur, Chiniot, Gujrat, and Okara.
So far in 2024, a total of 6,838 dengue cases have been recorded across Punjab. The Health Department officials said hospitals were fully stocked with essential medicines and ready to manage the growing number of patients.
As many as 63 people tested positive for the dengue virus in Rawalpindi in the last 24 hours.
With this total the number of dengue cases in this season uptick to 5,715.
Whereas 16 people were died from the disease. While 37 patients are under treatment in Benazir Bhutto General Hospital, Holly family hospital 66.
Besides that DHQ 18 patients are on treatment, Fauji Foundation 25 while 62 patients are receiving treatment in the private hospital of the city.
