6th death anniversary of Asima Jahangir is being observe today.

LAHORE: Today marks the 6th anniversary of the demise of one of the most iconic human rights advocates, Asima Jahangir, who defended and protected human rights in Pakistan at great personal risk

It has been 6 years since Asma Jahangir, the voice of the oppressed women, Be it the Ordinance of Rights or the matter of workers’ rights or the issue of violence against women and minorities, she were seen as vanguards on every front, Asma Jahangir was born on January 27, 1952 in Lahore to human rights pioneer Malik Jilani.  

Asima Jahangir’s fearless and tireless struggle for democracy and human rights is still fresh in people’s minds,, the humanitarian Asima Jahangir’s role for women and lawyers will always be remembered, not only in Pakistan but in the world. She also had her own unique identity The well-known jurist worked for the restoration of democracy and the improvement of the justice system in the country, and also played an active role in the judiciary restoration movement during the dictatorship.
