RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces successfully neutralized seven Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) operatives, identified as Khawarij, during an intelligence-driven operation in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan, according to the military’s media wing.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that the operation was launched based on credible information regarding the presence of terrorists linked to Fitna al Khawarij, described by the military as a proxy group sponsored by India.
In an intense firefight, security forces targeted the terrorist hideout. The engagement resulted in the elimination of seven Khawarij operatives. A significant cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the site. The military confirmed that these individuals were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities within the region.
Amid the exchange, Naik Yasir Khan, a 34-year-old soldier from District Mardan, embraced martyrdom while showcasing exemplary bravery. The ISPR honored him as a fearless defender of the nation who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his country.
The military has initiated a follow-up sanitization operation in the area to root out any remaining threats. Security forces are conducting extensive searches to ensure the region is fully secured.
Reiterating its commitment, the ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies remain steadfast in their mission to eliminate terrorism backed by foreign elements.
The statement further highlighted that the ongoing counter-terrorism initiative under Azm-e-Istehkam, sanctioned by the Federal Apex Committee as part of the National Action Plan, will persist with full vigor to eradicate militancy across the nation.
