Karachi: The Government of Pakistan has released 80 Indian fishermen from Malir Jail as a gesture of humanitarianism and goodwill
Eighty Indian fishermen released from Malir Jail were sent from Karachi to Lahore Indian, fishermen were released from Malir Jail in Karachi in the morning. The joy of meeting their loved ones was evident on their faces Indian fishermen were brought from Karachi to Lahore by prison vans to Cantt Station where they were also given gifts by the Edhi Foundation, the Indian fishermen expressed their gratitude to the government of Pakistan and praised the fair treatment of the jail administration.
It was informed by the administration that all the travel expenses of the Indian fishermen from Karachi to Lahore have been paid by the Edhi Foundation. Saad Edhi described this act of obedience as a service to humanity.
According to the administration, the Indian fishermen who were sent to Lahore after being released were arrested for violating Pakistani maritime boundaries in the year 2000. After reaching Lahore, they will be handed over to the Indian authorities at the Wagah border
