DHAKA: Bangladesh, a country of over 170 million, saw the disgraced ouster of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and it was followed by major shake up in the armed forces and key state institutions.
A day after chaos in the Asian nation, Bangladesh’s army dismissed Major General Ziaul Ahsan from his role as Director General of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC).
NTMC, which works under the Ministry of Home Affairs, was responsible for monitoring national situations, collecting data, and recording communication.
Maj Gen Ahsan was also responsible for his role in oppression agains the citizens. He has been replaced by Major General Ridwan Rahman who took charge as new Director General of the NTMC.
In fresh leadership changes, Lieutenant General Saif ul Alam has been appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Lieutenant General Mujeebur Rahman will lead the Army Training and Doctrine Command.
