KARACHI – Petrol and diesel prices are expected to increase by up to Rs10 per litre from October 16, 2024 in the upcoming review in the wake of a spike in global petroleum prices.

The Sources said that there is a possibility of increase in the prices of petroleum products from October 16. The petroleum industry has prepared the preliminary working paper and submitted it to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra).

According to the preliminary working paper, the price of petroleum products in the country is likely to increase by Rs 10 per liter from October 16. Diesel is likely to increase by Rs 10.25, petrol by Rs 3.95 per litre.

kerosene oil could cost up to Rs 7.85 per litre. Light diesel prices are likely to increase by Rs 8.33 per litre.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority will send the working paper of the price revision to the government, the Finance Ministry will announce the prices after the approval of Prime Minister. The government has the power to maintain prices or levy additional levies.
