Chinese PM reaches Pakistan to attend SCO meeting

Islamabad: Chinese Premier Li Qiang has arrived in Islamabad on a four day visit to Pakistan.

The Chinese PM is visiting the country at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Chinese Premier has been given red carpet welcome while 21 guns salute presented at his arrival.

Two children presented a bucket of flower to the Chinese PM.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif received his Chinese counterpart at the Noor Khan air base .While Deputy Prime Minister-Cum-Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers, Ahsan Iqbal, Mohsin Naqvi and other civil and military officials were also present at the airport.

It is pertinent to mention here that it is first visit of any Chinese Premier in Pakistan after 11 years.

Chinese PM will be given a guard of honour after his arrival at the PM house.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Chinese Premier will hold a meeting to be followed by delegation level talks.

They will also attend signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding regarding China-Pakistan cooperation, which includes CPEC-2 as well as other major projects. The ceremony also includes virtual inauguration of Gwadar International Airport.

During the visit, Premier Li Qiang will also attend the 23rd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Premier Li are accompanied by ministers and senior officials of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Commerce, the National Development and Reform Commission and the China International Development Cooperation Agency.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Premier Li Qiang will lead their respective delegations to comprehensively discuss all aspects of Pakistan-China relations including economic and trade ties and cooperation under CPEC.

The two sides will also discuss regional and global developments.
