Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has postponed a protest at D-chowk after accepting the government offer.
Sources said that the protest has been postponed on assurance of medical check up of founding chairman of the PTI, Imran Khan.
The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and Shaukat Khanum Hospital doctors will conduct medical inspection today at the Adyala jail.
The decision was taken by the PTI’s political committee in a meeting in which majority of participants urged to withdraw the protest call in view of the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting on October 15-16, sources said.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said the decision was taken after Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi formally contacted his party to ensure medical examination of jailed party founder Imran Khan on Tuesday morning.
He added that his party postponed its peaceful protest following Naqvi’s assurance.
