Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz return to Lahore after completing their foreign trips.

LAHORE: Nawaz Sharif and his daughter and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz return to Lahore after completing their foreign trips.

Nawaz Sharif, who departed on October 25, wrapped up his visits to the UAE, the UK, the US, and several European countries, where he held political and diplomatic discussions. Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz, who traveled on November 7 for medical treatment, also completed her trip, which included stops in Geneva and London.

Upon his return, Nawaz Sharif swiftly addressed the upcoming November 24 protest organized by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), dismissing it as an attempt to destabilize the country. He expressed confidence that the protest would fail, emphasizing that PTI’s leadership under Imran Khan had not achieved anything substantial during his tenure to warrant a mass movement. “What has Imran Khan achieved that justifies a nationwide protest?” he questioned, adding that PTI’s efforts would not succeed.

Nawaz Sharif also criticized PTI for its role in obstructing Pakistan’s progress, particularly as the country begins to recover from its economic challenges. He accused PTI of creating additional hurdles for national growth and development, and reiterated the need for accountability. Furthermore, Nawaz linked PTI’s actions to broader conspiracies against his government, referencing alleged involvement by Imran Khan, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and former ISI chief Faiz Hameed in efforts to undermine his administration.
