NACTA’s Threat Alert Issued Ahead of PTI Protest in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The National Counter-Terrorism Authority (NACTA) has issued a high-level terrorism threat alert ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest scheduled in Islamabad.

The alert warns of potential attacks by the terrorist group Fitna al-Khawarij, which is reportedly planning to target the protest, as well as other public gatherings across major cities in Pakistan.

NACTA’s warning indicates that members of the group have already crossed the Pak-Afghan border and entered various cities during the nights of November 19 and 20. The group is believed to be planning attacks on public rallies and gatherings.

In its statement, NACTA emphasized the credible nature of the threat, specifically targeting the PTI protest in Islamabad. It called on law enforcement agencies to remain on high alert and take all necessary precautions to ensure public safety. Additionally, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has issued a separate alert about the possibility of a suicide blast during the PTI protest, further heightening security concerns.
