Karachi: Sindh government has issued Sindh senior citizen card while the province becomes first province issuing the such card.
From the card elder citizens will be provided with the medical and travelling and other basic facilities.
For the issuance of the card a signing in ceremony was held in which Minister for social welfare Mir Tariq Ali Khan Talpur participated.
A ddressing on the occasion the Minister Mir Tariq Ali Khan Talpur apprised that with the cooperation of the National Data Base Registration Authority (NADRA) has taken the historical initiative for assisting the elderly citizens.
The Minister further said that according to the NADRA facts and figures as many as more than 60 years of age 3.7 million elderly persons will benefit from the card.
Through this card health care, travelling and other urban services will be in accessed to them.
Secretary social welfare, Pervez Ahmed Sehar, Director General (DG) social welfare Athar Hussain Meerani and NADRA Karachi Director General (DG) Ahtasham Shahid and program manager Junaid Shaukat were in attendance.
