After this death, the death tally from the blast climbed to 17.
As many as 22 injured still under treatment in the burns unit of Nishtar Hospital.
Many injured are in critical condition.
On January 27, Five person burnt to death in a fire engulfing a gas bowser at China round about in Multan while 15 people also sustained burns injuries.
The fire has been extinguished while before it being under control it blanketed other godowns in the area. While as many as 16 firefighters vehicles from other districts took part in the rescue operation.
All the injured have been shifted to Nishtar Hospital in Multan. Deceased includes one child, two women and two men.
The explosion in the LPG bowser that occurred triggered a massive fire, with debris from the shattered vehicle landing on nearby residential areas, causing significant destruction.
A total of six people were initially reported to have lost their lives in the deadly blast.
The police reported that at least 20 houses surrounding the explosion site were completely reduced to rubble, while 70 were partially damaged.
Multan’s City Police Officer (CPO) Sadiq Ali said that several houses were destroyed, and livestock perished in the blaze.
He revealed that gas had been leaking from one of the valves of the bowser truck parked in the Industrial Estate.
Some of the people present in the area had already evacuated after smelling the gas before the tanker exploded, he added.
CPO Ali further stated that gas leakage from the tanker persists, prompting authorities to evacuate the area. Among the injured, 13 are reported to be in critical condition.
The District Emergency Officer confirmed that an emergency has been declared at Nishtar Hospital, where the injured are receiving treatment.
Electricity and gas supply in the area had been suspended as a precautionary measure, though Multan-Muzaffargarh Road has now been reopened for traffic.
Meanwhile, locals have been advised to stay away from the site of blast as the gas from the exploded tanker is in the air.
Deputy Commissioner Multan had constituted an inquiry committee over gas bowser blast in the city.
The inquiry committee had been instructed to present the inquiry report within 48 hours.
The DC also imposed ban on transportation of LPG bowsers in the city limits.
The DC Muhammad Ali Bokhari expressed grief and sorrow over loss of precious human lives while he said that the district administration will take strict measures for prevention of such incidents.
The inspection of factories have started where bowsers are built, the DC said.
While he further apprised that a ban has been imposed on transportation of LPG bowsers in the city limits.
He said that the responsible for the incident will be brought to the court of the law.
