Quetta: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned attacks on polio teams in Bakar Abad and Jamrud areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In a statement, he expressed grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of police personnel assigned to protect polio teams.
Shehbaz Sharif said the entire nation salutes the polio workers who, by putting their lives at risk, became part of the campaign to eradicate polio from the country.
He said the sacrifices of polio workers and the security personnel will not go in vain.
The Prime Minister said despite all the obstacles, the anti-polio campaign will continue with full momentum.
He expressed firm commitment to purge the country of polio.
