LAHORE: Court acquits Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz in Ramadan Sugar Mills Case.
Anti-Corruption Court has acquitted former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz in Ramadan Sugar Mills reference.
Court’s decision delivered by Judge Sardar Iqbal Dogar, came after the court approved their petitions for acquittal.
The case centered around allegations that the father-son duo misappropriated national funds to construct drains for Ramadan Sugar Mills. However, during the hearings, the plaintiff deviated from his original statement, raising doubts regarding the prosecution’s case.
This reference was transferred to the Anti-Corruption Court following the recent NAB Amendment, which has brought about changes in the legal proceedings related to corruption cases in Pakistan.
