Karachi: The Muttahida Quami Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) organizational committee member and senior leader on Tuesday, today said that the Sindh government and feudal lords have subjected Karachi into cruelty
Addressing the presser at Bahadurabad headquarter along other leaders of the party, Dr Farooq Sattar urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to decide solution to the exploitation of the Sindh government and handed over our administration matters of Karachi to us.
Dr Farooq Sattar said that Sindh government and fedual lords have been exploited the citizens of Karachi for many decades.
Former mayor said that after employment, the doors of education have also been shut for us.
He said ” we are exploited on the name of quota system first and now students of Karachi are facing difficulties in getting admissions in the professional colleges.
He demanded to end the quota system immediately because owing to this merit of Karachi is being murdered.
He complained that the whole of Pakistan have been allowed to make Karachi domicile which is making hurdle for local students for getting admissions.
He furthered” Future of Karachi linked with future of Sindh and Pakistan while exploitation from the Sindh government has constantly been continued.”
The Senior leader said that employement opportunity to the citizens of Karachi is being denied.
He said that the youth of Karachi is being deprived of employment by writing residetial address of interior Sindh on identification card and Karachi address on domicile.
Dr Sattar said ” Students of Karachi passing matriculation and intermediate in the city get 90 percent admissions in the NED University.”
He apprised that medical colleges of Karachi have 1180 seats, out of which 400 seats went to students who neither passed matriculation and intermediate from Karachi adding that which meant that the students of Karachi are being cut from multi layered sword.
He said that students are being beaten up by domicile in the admission policy.
Karachi provides 70 percent revenue to the country exchequer and 95 percent to Sindh exchequer, he said.
Despite that our children are not getting admissions in Karachi and now non-local students are getting admissions on more than 50 percent seats, he said.
He urged that after 2023 census the population of Karachi went up and resultantly one NA seat and provincial assembly seats also increased which warrants that seats in medical colleges must be raised.
He also demanded changing fees structure of medical colleges including Karachi and Medical and Dental College (KMDC).
He complaint that people of political choice has been appointed vice-chancellor of the universities.He condemned appointing a bureaucrat as a vice-chancellor while he are thinking to approach court.
He said that if ad-hoc vice-chancellor is being appointed in the universities then appoint a Chief Minister on ad- hoc basis as well.
The MQM-P senior leaders Amin Ul Haque, Khawaja Izhar Ul Hassan and other leaders were also present at the occasion.
Since merger of Pak Sar Zameen Party (PSP) in to the MQM-P, it always holds press conference in the Pakistan house.
Whereas today, the MQM-P press conference was held at the Bahadurabad headquarter. While Chairman of the Party Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddique, Syed Mustafa Kamal and Anis Qaim Khani were not in attendance.
