ISLAMABAD: Previously, Dr. Zilaf served as the Vice Chairperson of PBC. She has taken over the position from Shabbir Diwan, CEO of Gatron (Industries) Limited.
The Board also elected Ziad Bashir, CEO of Gul Ahmed Textile, as Vice Chairman.
The Board of Directors of the Pakistan Business Council includes Abdul Samad Dawood, Azam Farooq, Danish A. Lakhani, Mohammad Ali R. Habib, Mohammad Ali Taba, Mohammad Arif Habib, Rizwan Diwan, Syra Awan Malik, Sameer Chenai, Syed Haider Ali, Taimoor Dawood, Yusuf Hussain, Zaid Bashir, and Dr. Zilaf Munir, with a term of three years.
Dr. Zilaf Munir is the Managing Director and CEO of English Biscuit Manufacturers (Private) Limited. In this role, she has played a significant role in promoting local industry and innovation, as well as advancing the collective interests of various industries in the country. She has also served as the Chairperson of the Pakistan Advertisers Society.
On being elected as the first female Chairperson of the Pakistan Business Council, Dr. Zilaf said that it is an honor to lead the Pakistan Business Council in such a challenging economic period. She emphasized that the Council has always been at the forefront of advocating policies that support sustainable business growth, increasing exports, and strengthening Pakistan’s industrial and manufacturing capabilities.
She added that she looks forward to working alongside business leaders to further strengthen Pakistan’s economic future.
It is worth noting that the Pakistan Business Council is a wide-ranging business advocacy organization consisting of more than 100 leading companies, including national and international companies, from the private sector.
