ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mushahid Hussain said on Tuesday that Pakistan was on the verge of prosperity in line with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Expressing his thoughts, Hussain said, “The Pakistan-China relations are of great importance. The CPEC is playing a great role in promoting geographical communication.”
He acknowledged the role of President Asif Ali Zardari in the CPEC project, saying, “Asif Ali Zardari is having a great role to play in the uplift of the CPEC.”
“The work has been started on the second phase of the CPEC,” he said
Separately, few days back, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan can serve as a bridge between China and the United States, emphasizing the need to reduce distances rather than create divisions.
In an interview with German media on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that bringing India into competition with China would disrupt the balance of power in the region.
He highlighted the importance of projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) while also underscoring the necessity of maintaining strong relations with the U.S.
