Pakistan set to clash with New Zealand in first T20 match tomorrow

On the other hand, Pakistan’s T20 team captain, Salman Ali Agha, stated that, the team is new and they are trying to create a new combination, ensuring they will play good cricket against New Zealand.

While addressing a press conference in Christchurch, Agha acknowledged that, Pakistani fans are not happy with the team’s performance as they have not played well. He noted that they have not met the expectations of their fans, nor have they played to their own standards.

Agha emphasized, despite being a new team, it doesn’t mean they are not a good team, mentioning that there are senior players in the squad and an effective combination. He stressed that they have come to win and are determined to play good cricket.

The national captain commented on the Hagley Oval pitch, indicating that it appears green, but it will also provide assistance to spinners.

He highlighted that, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf have shown improved performance in T20s, while they will miss Fakar Zaman and Saim Ayub, who are important players for the team. Both are recovering quickly and it is hoped they will be back in action for the upcoming series.

Regarding Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, Agha acknowledged their significant contributions to Pakistan cricket and stated that they are working on creating a new combination, although the playing eleven for the first match has not yet been decided.
