Pakistan’s tallest man passes away in Shikarpur at 55

SHIKARPUR: Pakistan’s tallest man, Naseer Soomro, has passed away at the age of 55 after battling lung disease and joint pain for several years.

Naseer Soomro, who stood 7 feet 9 inches tall, was considered one of the tallest people in the world, as he was at least three feet taller than ordinary people. His extraordinary height brought him national and international recognition, making Pakistan famous on a global stage.

He was an employee of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and was appointed due to his remarkable stature. However, in recent years, he faced neglect from both the government and his own institution, struggling with health issues and financial difficulties.

According to his family, Soomro was hospitalized multiple times due to chronic lung disease but continued to fight against his deteriorating health.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Naseer Soomro. He also extended his condolences and sympathies to Soomro’s family, acknowledging his contributions in making Pakistan recognized worldwide
