KARACHI: Karachi Court released Sami Din Baloch, leader of the Baloch Solidarity Committee, and other accused individuals, however, the police re-arrested Sami Baloch from the court premises, transferred to Jail for 30 Days under Section 3 of MPO.

As per detail, the police presented Sami Din Baloch, along with five other accused individuals, before the Judicial Magistrate South Court on charges of violating Section 144. After hearing the lawyers’ arguments, the court ordered the release of all the accused. However, the police, under a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, arrested Sami Din Baloch and the other accused under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) for 30 days.

Despite resistance from the lawyers against Sami Din Baloch’s re-arrest, the police detained the accused under MPO 3 and transferred them to jail for 30 days.

Meanwhile, according to a notification from the Sindh Ministry of Home Affairs, and upon the recommendation of the Sindh Inspector General of Police (IG), Sami Din Baloch and five others were placed under house arrest. Sami Din Baloch, Abdul Wahab Baloch, Reza Ali, and others were allegedly inciting people to block roads and stage protests.

The Ministry of Home Affairs stated that these individuals posed a threat to the law and order situation in the city, and their presence in public places could have been a danger to public safety and security.
