Lahore Qalandars Set 140-Run Target for Islamabad United

RAWALPINDI: The 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) has officially kicked off, with Lahore Qalandars setting a target of 140 runs for Islamabad United in the tournament opener.

In the match played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Lahore Qalandars were bowled out for 139 runs in the final over.

Abdullah Shafique was the top scorer for Lahore, playing a solid innings of 66 runs, which included 3 sixes and 6 fours. Haris Rauf contributed 10 runs, and Mohammad Naeem added 8 runs. Shaheen Afridi and Asif Afridi both scored 2 runs each, while Sam Billings, Jahandad Khan, and David Wiese were dismissed for zero.

Earlier, defending champions Islamabad United won the toss and elected to field first against two-time champions Lahore Qalandars.

Islamabad United are aiming to defend their title this season, having already secured the championship three times, while Lahore Qalandars have won the PSL twice.
