ISLAMABAD: The federal government has approved the promotion of Army Chief General Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal.
During a meeting of the Federal Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, important decisions were made. According to the announcement, the Federal Cabinet has approved the promotion of General Syed Asim Munir (Nishan-e-Imtiaz Military) to the rank of Field Marshal. General Asim Munir was promoted to the rank of Field Marshal in recognition of his high-level strategy during Operation Binyan Marsoos and his decisive defeat of the enemy.
It was also unanimously decided to continue the services of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Babar Sadooh after the completion of his tenure.The announcement stated that valuable services rendered during Binyan Marsoos would be recognized with high government awards, and the martyrs and heroes of Operation Binyan Marsoos would be honored with high government awards. Additionally, heroes and martyrs of the Pakistan Army would be awarded high-level official honors.
It was also decided to award high government honors to Pakistani civilians for their services during Operation Binyan Marsoos.The Federal Cabinet stated that due to the extraordinary leadership of the Army Chief, Pakistan achieved a historic victory in the “Battle of Truth.”General Asim Munir led the Pakistan Army with exemplary courage and determination, and effectively coordinated the military strategy and efforts of the armed forces.
According to the Federal Cabinet, Pakistan achieved a historic success in the Battle of Truth thanks to the unparalleled leadership of the Army Chief.The Prime Minister also briefed the President on this decision during a meeting.
