WASHINGTON: A woman was injured when a security guard opened fire on a suspicious vehicle outside the headquarters of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
According to U.S. media reports, the woman drove her vehicle up to the entrance gate and refused to stop when instructed by security personnel.
She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have confirmed that her injuries are not life-threatening.
A CIA spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating, “A security-related event occurred outside the headquarters, prompting a swift response from law enforcement agencies. The main gate has been closed until further notice, and more details will be shared at an appropriate time.”
According to American media, the incident is currently being jointly investigated by the CIA and the FBI.The CIA headquarters is located in Langley, Virginia, approximately nine miles from Washington, D.C.
