RIYADH: Saudi authorities have denied the circulating reports about plans to allow the sale of alcohol in the Saudi Arabia
According to Arab media, citing Saudi sources, these claims have not been confirmed by any official institution and do not represent the current policies and laws of the Kingdom.
Arab media further reported that the sources clarified the rules related to alcohol for non-Muslim diplomats, stating that Saudi Arabia has introduced a new framework to prevent the misuse of diplomatic shipments.
The sources added that under this framework, embassies of non-Muslim countries are no longer permitted to import alcohol or other prohibited items through diplomatic shipments. However, limited access may be allowed under specific regulations to prevent misuse.
