ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the Israeli attack is a violation of Iran’s sovereignty and regional integrity. He added that the attack is a complete violation of the United Nations Charter and international laws.
The Prime Minister emphasised that Iran has the right to defend itself under Article 51 of the UN Charter. Pakistan stands in full solidarity with the Government of Iran and the brotherly people of Iran.He expressed heartfelt condolences to the Iranian President for the loss of precious lives in the attacks and stated that Israel’s provocation and adventurism pose a serious threat to regional and global peace. Pakistan is ready to play its role in promoting peace in the region.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Iranian President thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for Iran’s support and solidarity during these difficult times. The Iranian President specifically appreciated Pakistan’s support for Iran at the United Nations Security Council.
The Iranian President mentioned that this reflects close and brotherly relations between the two countries. He also briefed the Prime Minister on Iran’s perspective regarding the crisis with Israel.The Iranian President urged the international community and Islamic countries to work together to address these threats.
The Prime Minister’s Office stated that both leaders agreed to stay in close contact.
