Iran attacks Israel with 1st time Kheibar ballistic missile in its 20th wave of extensive missile drone operations

Tehran: The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has conducted its twentieth wave of extensive missile and drone operations against military targets in Israel.

For the first time, the Kheibar missile was launched towards the occupied territories.

Iran’s IRGC announced that they employed the missile “Kheibar” in the 20th round of retaliatory strikes on occupied territories.

At least 23 people in Israel have been wounded in Iran’s latest missile barrage, the Arutz Sheva outlet has reported, citing the country emergency services.

In total, the ongoing conflict with Iran has forced over 10,000 people in Israel to evacuate their homes, according to the outlet. Over 32,000 people have requested government compensation for damage to their homes or property, it added.

Three areas of Israel including coastal hub Tel Aviv were hit during waves of Iranian missile attacks, with at least 23 people injured, according to rescue services and police, following a US attack on Iranian nuclear sites.

“Houses here were hit very, very badly,” Tel Aviv mayor Ron Huldai told reporters at the scene. “Fortunately, one of them was slated for demolition and reconstruction, so there were no residents inside.

“Those who were in the shelter are all safe and well. The damage is very, very extensive, but in terms of human life, we are okay.”

The Israeli police said in a statement that they had been deployed to at least two other impact sites, one in Haifa in the north and another in Ness Ziona, south of Tel Aviv.

Eli Bin, the head of Israeli rescue service Magen David Adom, told reporters that a total of 23 people had been wounded nationwide in the attacks, with “two in moderate condition and the rest lightly injured.”

Two waves of missiles were launched at Israel from around 7:30 am (9:30am PKT), the Israeli military said.

On the other hand, the IRGC on Sunday gave details of the 20th wave of Iran’s attacks against the Zionist regime as part of the Operation True Promise III.

It said the most recent stage of attacks was launched by firing 40 solid- and liquid-fuel ballistic missiles.

Multiwarhead Kheibarshekan ballistic missiles -the third generation of the IRGC Aerospace Force’s missiles- were fired in Sunday’s strike for the first time, the IRGC said, adding that modern and surprising tactics were employed to increase the accuracy of missiles and ensure their effective and destructive impact on the targets.

The Iranian missiles hit various targets such as Ben Gurion airport, the Israeli regime’s biological research center, and its replacement command-and-control centers, the IRGC stated.

The guided ballistic missiles launched by Iran had maneuverable and highly-explosive warheads that were being guided until the final moment of devastating impact, the statement noted.

It said the sirens in the occupied territories sounded only after the missiles hit the targets, upsetting the balance of the enemy.

The IRGC warned that the main sections of the capacities of the Iranian Armed Forces have not become operational in the counterattacks so far.

The Zionist regime waged an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran on June 13. It has carried out airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear, military and residential sites that resulted in the martyrdom of over 400 Iranians, including top military commanders, nuclear scientists and ordinary citizens.

The Iranian military forces started counterattacks immediately afterwards. They Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force has carried out 20 waves of retaliatory missile strikes against the Zionist regime as of June 22 as part of Operation True Promise III.
