During the meeting, Minister Kamal presented a comprehensive roadmap developed by the Ministry of National Health Services to enhance the national healthcare system.
He noted that with Pakistan projected to become the fourth most populous country by 2030, population growth presents a major challenge to sustainable development.
Drawing attention to public health concerns, Kamal stressed the need to reduce the country’s high population growth rate and raised alarm over the lack of effective sewage treatment systems.
He revealed that nearly 68% of diseases in Pakistan result from contaminated water and identified the provision of clean drinking water as a national priority.
To address this, the government is taking definitive steps to implement sewage treatment infrastructure nationwide.
The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to continued collaboration in achieving shared public health objectives and improving the quality of life for the people of Pakistan.
