PESHAWAR – In a major step toward boosting tourism and ensuring the safety of international visitors, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Tourism Department has rolled out a new Online No Objection Certificate (NOC) system through a dedicated mobile application.
Dr. Abdul Samad, Secretary of Tourism, Culture, Archaeology, and Museums, announced the initiative during a meeting focused on the safety and facilitation of tourists in the province. He emphasized that the Foreign Tourist Registration Portal has been officially launched to allow international travelers holding tourist visas to register smoothly and securely.
According to Dr. Samad, the digital platform is designed to simplify the registration and NOC application process, making it easier for tourists to explore KP’s scenic regions such as Chitral, Swat, Upper Dir, and other northern areas that require special permissions due to security regulations.
“This is a significant technological advancement aimed at improving the experience for foreign visitors,” he said. “By eliminating manual paperwork and long delays, the system enhances transparency and efficiency. Tourists can now submit passport copies, visa details, and travel plans digitally, and track their application status in real time.”
The portal, accessible via the KP Tourism mobile app (available on the Google Play Store and KP Tourism’s official website), will also soon cater to foreign mountaineers and trekkers. In addition, lists of registered tour guides, transport operators, and service providers will be published on the platform, ensuring reliability and ease of planning for travelers.
The Secretary noted that the digital dashboard strengthens coordination between tourism and security agencies while promoting safe, secure, and sustainable tourism. The initiative also supports KP’s broader vision to highlight its rich heritage, cultural diversity, and natural beauty.
“The department is fully committed to delivering a safe, efficient, and memorable experience for every tourist while preserving the ecological and cultural essence of the region,” Dr. Samad added.
This move marks a forward-looking effort by the KP government to align with global tourism standards, embracing digital solutions for better governance and visitor support.
