QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has condemned the recent wave of terrorism in the province, especially the ethnic-based killings of civilians, describing them as evidence of what he called the “Fitna al Hindustan’s” sinister agenda.
During a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Saturday with a delegation from the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), Bugti urged rights organizations to examine Balochistan’s past and present with a fair and fact-based lens.
He criticized what he described as a misleading portrayal of Balochistan’s situation both within Pakistan and abroad, and called for the propagation of a narrative grounded in truth to ensure a more informed and balanced discussion.
The conversation covered a range of pressing topics including the security situation, human rights concerns, and the province’s development initiatives. Emphasizing historical clarity, Bugti reiterated that the princely state of Kalat joined Pakistan through mutual consent, not coercion, and blamed some factions for twisting historical facts to sow confusion and dissent.
Condemning the recent terrorist incidents—particularly the ethnic targeting of passengers—he labeled them as brutal and senseless, asserting that such acts have no legitimate political foundation. According to Bugti, these attacks are meant to incite division and destabilize the country, and he accused India of actively supporting such efforts through direct and indirect means, pointing to public statements made in Indian media as evidence of external interference
