If govt doesn’t give immediate relief on sugar, petrol, electricity prices then people will be on roads: JI Lahore

Lahore: Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Lahore on Sunday staged a large and intense protest against a fourth hike in prices of petroleum, sugar.

Addressing the protest, the JI Chief Lahore Zia Uddin Ansari advocate said that the government has pressed the masses under the inflation as the government has increased the prices of petrol, sugar, flour and electricity.

Zia Uddin Ansari said that the government told a lie to the masses announcing the decrease in the electricity prices adding in a collusion with the sugar mafia sugar prices were surge surpassed Rs 200.

He said that the 89 sugar mills of the country are in control of influential belonging to PML-N, PPP and Istahkam-e Pakistan Party (IPP).

The JI leaders demanded to end unjust taxes on electricity bills and slab system, control the sugar mafia and bring down prices of petroleum products.

The JI Lahore Chief warned that if the government were not given immediate relief to the masses against inflation then whole of the nation will be on the road in the leadership of Hafiz Naem Ur Rehman.
