Maryam Nawaz visits modern traffic control center in Tokyo

Tokyo: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited the modern traffic control center equipped with latest technology in Tokyo on Wednesday.

During her visit, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was briefed about the technology in the latest traffic control room.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was also informed about data collection, transport planning and infrastructure in the traffic control room.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also observed the modern monitoring system to prevent queueing, over speeding and signal violations.

Maryam Nawaz was also informed about the provision of ambulances and police action in case of accidents and emergencies.

A briefing was also given about the system for informing the public about climate change in Tokyo through the traffic control system.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that Japan’s experiences and technology will be used to improve traffic and urban systems in Punjab.

She said Lahore will be made the first smart city through a modern traffic management system and funds have also been provided for this project in the annual development program,

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said the traffic system of all major cities of Punjab, including Lahore, is being connected to AI.

More than 12,000 kilometers of roads have been completed in Punjab to maintain traffic flow, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said.

Maryam Nawaz said to reduce traffic pressure, mass transit systems are being introduced in Lahore, Gujranwala and Faisalabad.

Safe City cameras are being used for traffic monitoring, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said.
