Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has contacted political leaders regarding severe monsoon rains and flood situation.
The Prime Minister contacted Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in torrential rains and urban flooding in southern Sindh, especially Karachi.
Shehbaz Sharif offered federal government’s full support to Sindh government in dealing with the emergency situation.
The Prime Minister directed the Chairman NDMA to remain in close contact with Sindh government, provide all possible assistance to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and ensure advance alerts to the public regarding potential risks.
Shehbaz Sharif also held telephone conversation with Amir Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, and Federal Minister for Education and Vocational Training Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
The Prime Minister and Amir Jamaat-e-Islami discussed the damages caused by the recent rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the ongoing relief efforts.
He appreciated the active role of Al-Khidmat Foundation in rescue and relief operations during the rains and floods.
The Prime Minister and Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui discussed the recent rain and flood situation in Sindh and the possible dangers posed by expected rainfall.
Shehbaz Sharif assured full cooperation from the federal government including NDMA and other federal institutions, to deal with any emergency situation.
