Islamabad: The outgoing UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al Zaabi, paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassador on the successful completion of his tenure in Pakistan and thanked him for his role in strengthening Pakistan-UAE relations.
He appreciated the leadership of UAE President and ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for fostering close ties between Pakistan and the UAE.
The Prime Minister also expressed satisfaction that in recent months, the two countries have taken important steps to further strengthen these relations, including the visits of UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the establishment of Pak-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission and the recent signing of a formal Operational Duty Passport Holders Agreement.
The Prime Minister said that he looks forward to the official visit of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Pakistan at the earliest, which would further strengthen the relations between the two sides.
The UAE Ambassador thanked the Prime Minister for the meeting and said that he was extremely grateful for the support and friendship received from the government as well as the people of the country during his nine-year stay in Pakistan.
Acknowledging the special bonds of friendship between the leadership and people of the two countries, he said that he would continue to work for the strong relations between Pakistan and the UAE in the future.
