ISLAMABAD: National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) predicted heavy rainfall with thunderstorms across the Country from August 29 to September 2.
According to the Meteorological Department, thunderstorms and rainfall are expected in Islamabad from August 29 to September 2. Northern and northeastern districts of Punjab are also forecasted to experience heavy rains from August 30 to 31.
The Meteorological Department predicts rainfall in Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Narowal, Hafizabad, and Mandi Bahauddin from August 30 to 31.Central and southern Punjab are also expected to see rainfall from August 29 to 31, with flood risks in low-lying areas. Cities including Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Layyah, Bhakkar, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Rahim Yar Khan are also likely to experience showers during this period.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is forecasted to see heavy rainfall from August 29 to 31, with the Malakand and Hazara divisions at risk of landslides.Regions such as Chitral, Dera, Swat, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Dera Ismail Khan, Torkham, Kohat, and Bannu are expected to experience rainfall from August 29 to 31.
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, cities including Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Havelian, Kotli, Mirpur, and Bimber are forecasted to undergo heavy rainfall from August 29 to September 2.Gilgit-Baltistan regions such as Gilgit, Skardu, Hunza, Dhamair, Astor, Gojal, and Ganche are also at risk of rainfall and landslides from August 29 to 31.
According to NDMA, rainfall is expected in Karachi from August 30 to September 2, with potential for severe rains and flooding.Tando Allahyar, Sajawal, Badin, and Tharparkar are also forecasted to receive rainfall from August 30 to September 2, while Hyderabad, Dadu, Sukkur, Ghotki, Larkana, Jacobabad, and Kashmore may experience heavy showers from August 30 to September 1.
Regions including Gwadar, Kech, Panjgur, Kharan, Lasbela, and Quetta are expected to see rain from August 29 to September 1.
Authorities advise residents to stay alert and take necessary precautions amid the forecasted heavy rains and potential flooding across the country.
