BEIJING: Following his participation in the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State summit, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif traveled to Beijing by high-speed bullet train from Tianjin on Monday.
He was greeted upon arrival at Beijing South Railway Station by Wang Hong, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. Shehbaz was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
During his visit to the Chinese capital, the Prime Minister is set to take part in the 80th anniversary observance of the worldwide fight against fascism during World War II. The event will be attended by global leaders and dignitaries from various countries.PM Shehbaz is also scheduled to hold significant bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. Topics on the agenda are expected to include regional collaboration, strategic alliances, and economic development initiatives under existing agreements.
Apart from diplomatic and commemorative activities, the Prime Minister will participate in the China-Pakistan Business-to-Business Conference. During his address, he is expected to emphasize Pakistan’s investment prospects and explore avenues for strengthening economic ties between the two nations.
