Bangladesh secures victory over Hong Kong by 7 wickets

ABU DHABI: In the third match of the Asia Cup T20 tournament, Bangladesh defeated Hong Kong by 7 wickets.

The match was played in Abu Dhabi, where Bangladesh’s captain, Litton Das, won the toss and elected to bowl first, inviting Hong Kong to bat.Hong Kong set a target of 144 runs for victory, posting a total of 143 for 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Notable performances from the Hong Kong side included Nazakat Khan, who scored 42 runs, and Zeeshan Ali, who contributed 30. Yasir Murtaza scored 28, while Babar Hayat added 14 runs.

Bangladesh’s bowling attack was led by Taskin Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan, and Rashad Hossain, each taking 2 wickets.Chasing the target, Bangladesh reached the total in the 18th over with three wickets remaining. Captain Litton Das scored a vital 59 runs, while Tohid Raza remained unbeaten on 35.For Hong Kong, Atiq Iqbal took two wickets, providing some breakthrough for the team.

This was Bangladesh’s first match of the tournament, while Hong Kong played their second, having previously lost to Afghanistan.
