World Athletics Championships: Trinidad and Tobago Wins Gold Medal in Javelin Throw

TOKYO: At the World Athletics Championships, Trinidad and Tobago’s athlete secured the gold medal in the javelin throw event.

The final of the javelin throw took place in Tokyo, where Keiron Velkot from Trinidad and Tobago claimed the gold medal. He achieved a throw of 88.16 meters in the final round to win the gold.Additionally, the silver medal went to Anderson Peters, while the bronze was won by Curtis Thompson from the United States.

Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem was eliminated from the medal race. In the final, Arshad Nadeem’s first throw was 82.73 meters, which placed him seventh initially. However, his second attempt was a foul. He threw 82.75 meters on his third attempt, but his fourth attempt was also a foul, which ended his chances of winning a medal.

Furthermore, defending champion Neeraj Chopra from India also failed to progress to the medal stage. In the 2023 World Athletics Championships, the three top positions in the javelin throw event were not achieved by Indian, Pakistani, or Czech athletes, as they did not perform well in Tokyo.
