ATC issues arrest warrants for Asad Qaiser in Judicial Complex Case

ISLAMABAD – The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has issued arrest warrants for senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former National Assembly speaker, Asad Qaiser, in connection with the attack on the Judicial Complex.

Presiding over the case, ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra ordered authorities to arrest Qaiser and ensure his production before the court. The case, lodged at the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police station, implicates various top PTI figures, including the party’s founder, in the alleged assault on the Judicial Complex.

Exemptions Approved for Elahi, Umar, and Faraz

During Monday’s proceedings, the court accepted exemption requests submitted on behalf of PTI leaders Parvez Elahi, Asad Umar, and Shibli Faraz. Their legal representatives filed applications seeking exemption from personal appearance due to various justifications, which the court accepted.

Awaiting Law Ministry’s Response

Judge Sipra also remarked on the pending response from the Law Ministry regarding matters related to the PTI founder. As the ministry has yet to reply to the court’s earlier correspondence, the judge adjourned the proceedings.

The case has been rescheduled to resume on October 6, when the court will review the status of the arrest orders and other pending matters.
