14 Militants killed as security forces launch major offensive in Khuzdar’s Zehri Region

KHUZDAR: In a decisive counter-terrorism operation, Pakistani security forces eliminated at least 14 militants and wounded over 20 others in the Zehri area of Khuzdar, Balochistan.

The offensive targeted the banned outfit Fitna-ul-Hindustan, whose multiple hideouts were destroyed during the operation.

Security sources confirmed that the operation was initiated after actionable intelligence indicated increased militant activity in the mountainous region. Militants allegedly affiliated with the proscribed group were reportedly planning attacks intended to disrupt civilian life and sow unrest.

During the engagement, security forces launched a well-coordinated assault that led to significant militant casualties. Several of the group’s operational bases, used for planning and launching attacks, were successfully neutralized.

Residents of Zehri and surrounding villages welcomed the military’s swift response, expressing relief and support for the security forces. Locals raised pro-army slogans and credited the operation with restoring a sense of safety to the region.

Following the operation, security officials reiterated their resolve to uproot militant networks across the province. They emphasized that with public cooperation, efforts to ensure long-term peace in Balochistan would be intensified.
