KARACHI: The 18th anniversary of the Karsaz twin blasts, which targeted the homecoming convoy of Benazir Bhutto on October 18, 2007, is being observed today, honoring those who lost their lives in the tragic incident.
A massive crowd had gathered and moved in a grand procession along Sharah-e-Faisal to welcome Bhutto upon her return to Karachi after years of self-imposed exile.
However, as her rally reached Karsaz, two devastating bomb explosions occurred, claiming the lives of at least 180 people and injuring over 500 others.
PPP leaders and workers gather at the Karsaz memorial every year and pay homage to the martyrs.
