LAHORE: The Punjab government has extended the enforcement of Section 144 across the province to uphold law and order.
As per the Punjab Home Department, the restrictions are effective immediately in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, and other districts.
The notification declares a complete prohibition on protests, rallies, processions, and all forms of public gatherings. Under Section 144, assembling more than four individuals in public spaces is strictly prohibited.
Additionally, the Home Department has emphasized a complete ban on displaying any type of weapon throughout the province, warning that violators will face stringent legal actions.
The use of loudspeakers has also been entirely restricted to prevent disruptions to public peace and order.
The department highlighted that these measures aim to prevent potential untoward incidents and ensure the protection of lives and property.
