WEB DESK: Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi has addressed the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) request regarding the Asia Cup 2025 trophy.
Reports indicate that the BCCI reached out to Naqvi with a formal request to hand over the trophy their team secured earlier this year.
In his response, Naqvi suggested organizing a formal ceremony for the presentation if India desires the trophy.
It has been further stated that the ACC informed the Indian board about plans to transfer the trophy in the first week of November. The council proposed Dubai as the venue for the ceremonial handover during that time.
Naqvi has reportedly specified that a representative from the BCCI, alongside one team player, could attend the event to personally receive the trophy.
The Indian team did not claim the Asia Cup 2025 trophy during the final, prompting Naqvi to return it to the ACC office. Following this, he remarked that if the Indian captain wished to collect it, he could do so by visiting his office directly.
