KARACHI: K-Electric has taken legal action against the recently revised Multi-Year Tariff (MYT) decision, submitting multiple petitions to both the Sindh High Court and the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Appellate Tribunal.
In a letter to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), K-Electric disclosed that it has filed five separate petitions in the Sindh High Court, challenging the revised MYT ruling issued by NEPRA.
The company further informed that on November 4, the Sindh High Court issued a stay order on K-Electric’s applications contesting NEPRA’s decision.
Before approaching the high court, K-Electric had already filed an appeal with NEPRA’s Appellate Tribunal under Section 12-G of the NEPRA Act, challenging the same MYT revision. However, due to the tribunal’s current inactivity, the company decided to seek judicial relief from the Sindh High Court.
K-Electric emphasized that its legal proceedings are in strict accordance with legal provisions and are intended to promote a fair and transparent resolution to the dispute.
